Glomalin is an occasional publication combining text, art, ideas and actions from the realms of collaboration, mutual aid and new/old ways of doing things. Named after a carbon-capturing glycoprotien produced by the synergistic nutrient transactions occuring between plant roots and certain mycorrhizal fungi, the publication takes its cue from the premise that ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE, recognising that working and interacting cooperatively for the mutual advantage of all is essential for the healthy functioning of both ecosystems and societies, and can have benefits far beyond the sum of the individual parts of such a system.
The theme of this is first issue is ‘Patchwork Orchard’, and features articles on mycorrhizal connections, forest gardening, community orchards and local apples, the People’s landscape and DIY cider, with some absolutely top notch contributors from the worlds of art, permaculture, bioregionalism and community activism including Claire White, James Ravinet, Shaun C Badham, James Taylor, Stephen Jordan,Graham Burnett and more.
